Prayer Ministry

People seek prayer ministry or prayer healing for various reasons. Usually when people contact us life is not going well for them. Problems often involve relationships with spouse, children, parents, colleagues; or unpleasant feelings or inabilities such as anger, depression, fear, or anxiety. These issues are very real and important and need to be shared and discussed, but prayer healing is based on the premise that the current conflict is not the basic issue, but is symptomatic of something buried in the past. There is a direct similarity between the presenting emotion and the emotions experienced early in our life. Emotional foundations are generally formed in the first six to eight years of our life. The current situation is a revival of old painful feelings, which began at a much earlier time, were subsequently buried, but which emerge and replay at various times throughout one's life when triggered.

Actual events in a person's life are not the primary factor in woundedness. Rather it is the negative conclusions that people come to believe about themselves, God and others. As a person grows up they usually forget these negative conclusions on a conscious level. However these conclusions form a structure or belief system from which the person views later events in their life. Unless this negative belief system is radically altered, we will view all subsequent events in our lives through these "looking glasses".

The fundamental premise in prayer healing ministry is that God leads. We Pray. God answers and directs. We follow.

We believe that we can hear from God. This belief is foundational to prayer healing ministry. Prayer healing involves asking God to help us submit to the logical and spiritual process of going back to the root memory. Again, it is the root or origin we want to address. Addressing symptoms is like pulling the tops off dandelions; all too soon new yellow flowers spring up again!

We rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us where we need to go. Since He knows us perfectly we can be sure He knows exactly where the present problem originated. This places the responsibility for the healing on the One who is infallible and has the power to heal, as well as the love to lead us with His tenderness.

While in the memory, and feelings of the memory, we ask Jesus to show us what negative conclusions (lies) were believed as a result of the situation or incident. This is the real foundation for the painful current emotions. For example, the conclusion by the child that "I am bad" would predispose the adult to approach life with this embedded expectation.

The negative conclusions were not truth - they were counterfeits of truth. However, because they were accepted as being truth, they held a lot of power in our life. Once the lie is exposed, we want it to be replaced with the real truth, spoken by the One who is The Truth. The Truth that Jesus gives us is usually both simple and profound. His truth penetrates profoundly into the wound and the old belief system and brings healing and transformation.
